Synopsis: Nick Cain, an American gambler, arrives in the Mediterranean resort of San Paolo, to find himself fêted by the local casino owner. On returning to his room with a girl he met at the casino, he is drugged by the drink provided by the casino owner and wakes up to find a dead body in his room and the police there. The dead man is a U.S. Treasury agent and Cain is accused of his murder. Escaping with the girl, Cain, with help from the girl and a small boy called Toni, establishes his innocence and brings to book a gang of counterfeiters, which includes among its number the casino owner.
